Cadmould simulation software gets add-on feature

Aug. 28, 2019
Cadmould Simcon’s suite of modular simulation software packages generates meshes and geometries automatically. The software creates accurate, high-resolution simulations showing variances in conditions such as temperatures, wall thickness and shear velocities. As an option, users of the modules can install an add-on, called 3D T-Box, which can be used early in mold development to generate a sketch of the mold. A screen shot from 3D T-Box is pictured.

What’s new? An enhancement, in Version 11, to Simcon’s 3D T-Box add-on, making it better able to calculate and configure the temperature profile within a mold. The version extends Cadmould’s ability to take account of cooling rates. It includes the addition of a feature that calculates, with a single click, the cooling provided by TempFlex hoses from Hasco America Inc., Fletcher, N.C. Version 11 also fully integrates simulations of reaction injection molding.

Benefits Improved simulations, leading to the development of better molds and faster mold builds. For example, the T-Box module automatically determines the coefficient of heat transfer and depicts the temperature at each individual point of the system. Because it now can calculate cooling rates within molds that have TempFlex hoses, Cadmould 11 eliminates the need for trial-and-error testing in such cases.
