SID The servomotor-powered indexing plate drives in this lineup from German mold components maker i-mold are responsible for facilitating the rotary movement of the plates within a mold. I-mold supplies them, along with its SAK drive units and SEK elastomer couplings, which connect the drive units to the SIDs; indexing plate weight and rotation times determine the exact configurations. Available in a choice of four standard sizes, the SIDs plates weighing between 22 pounds and 550 pounds.

What’s new? The indexing plate drives, which are equipped with a specially designed gearbox that stands up to temperatures as hot as 302 degrees Fahrenheit.

Benefits Fast, precise and trouble-free rotary motions, and time savings. The new indexing plate drives provide unlimited rotary motion and don’t need to return to a home position to start a new cycle. Depending on plate weight, a 180-degree rotation takes between 0.3 second and 1.2 seconds. And, because the plate drives can now transmit power at a 90-degree angle, they save space within the mold.
