Heidenhain touch probe is fast, accurate

March 16, 2022
The TS 760 can probe at a rate of up to 3.2 feet per minute.

TS 760 Heidenhain makes a range of touch probes for use on milling machines and machining centers. The probes can be inserted manually or loaded automatically from a tool changer. They can handle functions such as workpiece alignment, preset setting, workpiece measurement and digitizing or inspecting 3D surfaces, and can be incorporated on non-Heidenhain CNCs.

What’s new? The TS 760, which has an updated sensor that can transmit data from the probe to the control with infrared signals or radio waves.

Benefits Fast, accurate measurement. The TS 760 offers a feed rate/probing speed of 3.2 feet per minute, which is four times faster than competitors’ products that can match its repeatability. It also features accuracy of plus or minus 1 micron. These features reduce setup times and prevent scrap and rework. It can use air and cooling lubricant to clean workpieces before each measuring session. The TS 760 is also more compact than its predecessor, the TS 740.
