MA-600HIII Weighing in at 55,000 pounds, the mass of Okuma’s MA-600HIII horizontal machining center ensures structural stability and consistent precision machining operations. Its standard 10,000-rpm spindle can handle applications such as heavy-duty and high-feed machining; spindle options are available offering up to 20,000 rpm.

What’s new? A larger work envelope than its predecessor. It has also extended its X-axis travel to 3.4 feet.

Benefits Increased uptime and long-term repeatability. The MA-600HIII maximizes uptime with a combination of new features, including an upgraded workspace design that prevents chip accumulation, improved chip evacuation and a sophisticated filtering system — all of which decrease time-consuming cleanup. Its thermal management technology has been improved, and dimensional change has been limited to seven microns per 24-hour period — which is especially helpful when the ambient temperature is subject to wide variability. Its new through-spindle coolant-suction feature evacuates residual coolant from inside the tool and spindle in 0.4 seconds, which eliminates the need for an air-blow cycle (which requires a minimum of 15 seconds) and allows the machine to perform 4-second tool changes.
