Mitutoyo's Roundtracer Flash gets 360-degree view

Roundtracer Flash Mitutoyo America Corp.’s Roundtracer Flash is an optical measuring unit that is equally at home in the lab or production environments. It is equipped with multiple fixed image sensors, and workpieces are rotated to provide the sensors with a 360-degree view. The images are combined to generate a single image, with no discontinuities or gaps at the stitching edges. The Roundtracer Flash has an adjustable touch-screen monitor for ease of operator use, and seven USB ports to connect to external devices such as code readers, printers and external memory devices. Its intuitive user interface cuts out the need for training costs, and makes it easy to interpret measurement results. It can measure length, diameter, cylindricity, straightness, flatness,  roundness and other characteristics. Typical workpieces include screws, connectors, fasteners and basically symmetrical objects such as turbocharger shafts.
