AMBA honors Coombs as top mold builder

The American Mold Builders Association has named Ray Coombs, founder and president of Westminster Tool Inc., the winner of its 2021 Mold Builder of the Year award.

Coombs began working from his home nights and weekends in 1997, and from that beginning has expanded over the years to create a business with more than 35 employees. By emphasizing mentoring, he has seen the average age of his work force drop from over 50 to 33 years old. The award, sponsored by Progressive Components, includes a $5,000 endowment for continuing education in mold building, to be presented to the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.
