Is your cobot height-challenged? An Elevate electric lifting column from Linak becomes a seventh axis to extend the reach.
The new LC3 IC three-stage lifting column with an integrated controller is designed to work with a wide range of cobots in industrial applications.
The electric lifting column, which was shown at Automate 2025 in Detroit, has a capacity of 224 pounds and maximum speed of about 3.9 inches per second. It can raise the cobot more than 43 inches in less than 10 seconds. Soft start and stop features reduce vibration.
The series was originally designed for medical applications but has found uses in industrial settings such as palletizing.
The Elevate-LC3 IC has an integrated controller with digital and analog I/O options or Modbus TCP/IP. Cobot-specific mounting plates, cables and driver software are included. Linak said extra components or third-party suppliers are not needed for installation and operation.
Visual LED status indicators facilitate monitoring and troubleshooting.
Two to eight columns can be run in parallel to create a synchronized lifting system. The columns can be mounted on the floor or autonomous guided vehicles, or hung from the ceiling.
