Active storm season could threaten resin production

The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board warns petrochemical companies to be prepared.

As Hurricane Beryl approached the Texas coastline, the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board issued a warning to processing facilities to be prepared for an active hurricane season.

Several petrochemical facilities indicated they had shut down production as Beryl made landfall on Monday. The board indicated that process manufacturers along the Gulf Coast, including petrochemical facilities involved in plastic resin production, could face similar scenarios as the season progresses.
