Servo drives make WS90 robot efficient

The Wittmann robot for small-part and sprue picking also fits in tight spaces.

WS90 This Wittmann robot for small-part and sprue handling uses servo drives, reducing compressed air and energy usage. The servo drives also allow acceleration and deceleration values to be adjusted to suit the application, reducing dwell time in the mold area and ensuring low-vibration operation for precise performance. Its compact design keeps the safety housing compact for operation in tight spaces. It includes Wittmann's R9 controller, and in integrated production cells with the company's injection molding machines (IMMs), the WS90 can be controlled directly via the B8X machine control panel. The WS90 can carry payloads of up to 4.4 pounds and is intended for IMMs with clamping forces from about 39 tons to about 198 tons.

What's new? The WS90, which debuted at Fakuma 2026 in October.

Benefits Energy- and space-saving removal of small parts and sprues.
