FD-G Keyence’s new clamp-on flow meters monitor compressed air and pressurized gases as they move through compressors, receiving tanks, main lines and machines throughout a manufacturing facility. Applications for the meters include locating pipe leaks and determining how much compressed air is used by specific machines or an entire facility. Compatible with a variety of metal pipes, including painted pipes and those with interior rust, the FD-G meters come in five sizes to fit on pipes with diameters ranging from 0.75 inch to 8 inches. They have a display that features easy-to-
understand graphical and numerical information. The display can be mounted separately from the sensing portion of the unit for more convenient user access.
What’s new? The meters.
Benefits Simple monitoring and cost savings. The FD-G meters are completely non-invasive, unlike conventional flow meters that require probes or pipe modifications that can create new spots for air or gas to escape. In addition to identifying costly leaks, the easy-to-install meter can be used to determine how much compressed air is actually needed and to optimize compressor usage.
