pic A Engel’s new pneumatic sprue picker integrates into the CC300 control unit of an injection molding machine from the company for centralized control of the entire molding process.

What’s new? The pic A, which launched at K 2019, and its numerous special features. It is the first Engel sprue picker to have a swivel arm instead of the usual rigid X-axis. Thanks to new kinematics, the take-off stroke is continuously variable up to 15.7 inches. The automation solution can automatically adjust the rotation of the A-axis from zero degrees to 90 degrees. The pic A will be available globally in April.

Benefits Ease of use. The compact pic A can be configured so that it leaves the entire area of the mold free for simple and speedy mold changes. This eliminates the time-consuming process of swiveling out the sprue picker and setting the XY adjustment unit. The Y-axis module also can be adjusted in only a few steps. Additionally, the automation solution has a robust, low-wear design for greater durability.
