MBS 3628/DC200 Maxi-Blast’s mobile unit for cleaning feed screws features a clamshell door that pivots 90 degrees and completely encloses a section of the screw when closed. The user looks through the safety window, passes his or her hands into the interior through long gloves mounted into the lid and uses a hose to blast the screw with recyclable plastic media.
What’s new? The unit has been upgraded with a safety door interlock system that shuts down the blasting unit if the door is opened.
Benefits Worker safety and speed. The company says a 25mm screw can be cleaned in as little as five minutes, while a 150mm screw can be cleaned in under an hour. Because all cleaning actions are contained inside the sealed blast chamber, workers are not subjected to the hazards of using wire wheels or the fumes released by burning plastic off the screw.
