Engel software analyzes process conditions

Engel's new iQ process observer software helps operators maximize the efficiency of the company's injection molding machines.
Nov. 1, 2019
Injection molding machines Engel’s broad stable of injection molding machines includes hydraulic, electric, horizontal and vertical models for applications ranging from precision micro parts to large automotive components.

What’s new? The iQ process observer software, which expands the company’s line of intelligent-assistance systems for process control. The software continually analyzes several hundred process conditions throughout the plasticizing, injection, cooling and demolding phases and immediately displays the results in an easy-to-understand overview on both the machine’s CC300 control and in Engel’s e-connect customer portal. The software checks conditions against previous cycles and compares them to set parameters. Shown for the first time at K 2019, the assistance program is undergoing testing and will be available globally in early summer.

Benefits Efficient, stable molding. Because it is based on live data, the iQ process observer actively indicates changes in the process, improving process stability. With zero set-up required, machine operators can maximize the efficiency of the injection molding machine. They also can identify changes in the process early to quickly determine causes and solutions.
