Wittmann Battenfeld's EcoPower Xpress takes on medical molding

Available with clamping forces ranging from about 180 tons to 551 tons, the servo-electric injection molding machines in Wittmann Battenfeld's EcoPower Xpress series can be paired with injection units in one of three sizes.

EcoPower Xpress Available with clamping forces ranging from about 180 tons to 551 tons, the servo-electric injection molding machines in this Wittmann Battenfeld series can be paired with injection units in one of three sizes, for injection speeds of up to 23.6 inches per second and injection pressures topping 36,000 psi. The presses have a three-platen, four-tie-bar system with a five-point toggle lever, and a drive system that’s equipped with a servomotor and rack-and-pinion gears.

What’s new? The company’s first medical version in the series. At K 2019 next month in Düsseldorf, Germany, Wittmann Battenfeld plans to display a high-speed EcoPower Xpress 160/1100+ for medical applications. With about 180 tons of clamping force, the machine will be making PET medical tubes.
