Bar-code reader can scan from 30 feet

BT-A700 Keyence’s new bar-code reader is designed for one-handed operation and features a 5-inch screen for ease of use. The durable device is waterproof, dustproof and impact- and scratch-resistant. Its battery provides 32 hours of operation, and a back-up power supply prevents work interruptions.

What’s new? The device, which came out in June, and its very large scanning range. It can read bar codes as close as 1 inch and as far away as 30 feet.

Benefits Greater productivity and operator convenience. The BT-A700 employs an ultra-fast decoding process, and its proprietary image-processing algorithm allows the scanner to accurately read codes that are distorted or partially obscured by plastic pallet wrap. Additionally, users don’t need to get into uncomfortable positions to scan codes in awkward or distant locations.
