Master3DGage Hexagon’s new portable CMM can be used for reverse engineering and inspections of parts or mold cavities. It’s made of lightweight carbon-fiber components and features swappable probes; the scanning system also can be equipped with an optional laser scanner that’s interchangeable with tactile probes. The Master3DGage is ideal for use in a quality-control lab, as well as on the shop floor.

What’s new? The system, which has been available a few months.

Benefits Ease of use. To scan an object, users simply align the part they wish to scan with the Master3DGage’s 3-D CAD model and probe any surface of interest; the scanning system then creates inspection-result reports and color-deviation maps.
