Hoists Columbus McKinnon’s Yale YK and Shaw-Box SK lines of electric wire rope hoists are suited for a wide range of applications, including manufacturing and warehouse tasks. They are especially applicable in areas with space limitations because they feature low-headroom trolleys.

What’s new? The combination of an Impulse VG+ Series 4 adjustable frequency drive with a continuous-duty hoist motor. The drive-motor combination is available on Yale YK and Shaw-Box SK monorail hoists with capacities of up to 15 tons, including hoists that are incorporated into plug-and-play crane kits. The smart drives can continuously monitor motor temperature, motor speed, brake functionality and other operating conditions. Standard motion features include encoder feedback for load control, dynamic braking to reduce wear and tear on brake pads and short-circuit protection. Shown is a Yale YK 5-ton hoist, a VG+ Series 4 drive and an Impulse G+ Mini drive, which controls the motion of the hoist’s trolley.

Benefits Reliable, safe operation. Continuous system monitoring reduces the potential for failures, minimizes downtime and improves operator safety.
