Apodius Vision System 2D Hexagon’s new system offers in-line, high-speed analysis of the orientation of fibers, such as carbon or glass, in composite materials. The HP-C-V2D Apodius vision sensor captures high-resolution images of a surface. The Apodius Explorer 2-D software platform then analyzes the image in real time, displaying data about the orientation of the fibers. The software also can generate reports.

What’s new? The vision system.

Benefits Better quality control. The system can verify fiber orientation to within 0.1 degree, and its high repeatability leads to less waste of raw materials. It can be incorporated for in-line inspection of dry, wet, cured and semi-finished parts, and can be used for hand-held, static or fully automated inspection.
