The company also detailed other moves to reduce environmental impact.

The Kistler Group announced the appointment of Franziska Kunz to the new position of head of global ESG and sustainability, and also said it will focus more closely on sustainable solutions and continue to reduce its emissions.

Kunz has 19 years of experience with the company, currently serving as sustainability and CSR manager and previously as head of production center Meerane (Germany). “Worldwide developments call for new products and business models so we, as a company, also need new strategies,” she said in a news release.

Two of Kistler’s German production sites are already equipped with their own photovoltaic systems, and green electricity certificates have been awarded to facilities in Germany, China, Japan, Switzerland, Slovakia, and the U.S. The company has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by almost 40 percent since 2021, when the sustainability initiatives were launched.

Kistler is continuing a drive to boost electromobility in its vehicle fleet. Pilot projects to promote the circular economy are also being launched, and work is under way to minimize Scope 3 emissions, with a focus on the product use phase and purchased goods.

Based in Winterthur, Switzerland, Kistler Group is a provider of measurement technology solutions, which the company says helps manufacturers operate more sustainably by reducing scrap and material usage and enabling more resource-efficient production.
