HD-OSW servo spin welder Forward Technology displayed its upgraded HD-OSW servo motor spin welder at NPE. The heavy-duty pneumatic motion-controlled orientation device is designed to deliver high rotational power and precision for larger-diameter, more-difficult spin welding applications. It is also commonly used for small, intricate parts. It is targeted for a wide range of injection molded applications, with key target markets including the automotive, filtration, medical, pharmaceutical, consumer goods and general industrial segments.

What’s new? Upgrades to the HD-OSW servo spin welder, including an enhanced servo drive for greater performance and simplified integration for automated manufacturing systems. Upgrades to the welder make it easier for users to export logged data and to integrate the machine into a plantwide SCADA or other network infrastructure. It also has simplified remote support without the need for third-party software or additional hardware, simplified electrical integration, and enhanced diagnostics and messaging for operators and maintenance staff.

Benefits User-friendly features that minimize the need for training or assistance to operate the welder. The company said these updates, which include a fully revamped electrical architecture and controls, and a higher-resolution touch screen with the look and feel of a computer tablet, are designed to help industry cope with the growing labor shortage. The upgraded HD-OSW provides an economical, high-performance option, with precise torque control. It is capable of orienting part halves relative to each other with a positioning accuracy of plus or minus 1 degree.
