Airtect device spots injection nozzle leaks

Oct. 9, 2023
The cost-effective system lowers the risk of damage, bad-part production and downtime.

LA502 Like the original LA500 from Airtect, Dublin, this leak detection device spots injection nozzle leaks; unlike the earlier model, it works with two injection nozzles, rather than one. In the U.S., Plastixs distributes Airtect technologies.

What’s new? Applications with co-injection molding. On the market for about six months, the LA502 comes with an LED display; an air-pressure regulator with pressure gauge, air filter and fittings; and an extra tube for monitoring the second nozzle. It has a stainless steel sensor tube that runs along the barrel of the press on its way to the nozzles.

Benefits Cost-effective nozzle and barrel protection. The system lowers the risk of damage, bad-part production and downtime.
