Md Plastics updates Melt-IQ

Jan. 20, 2023
The quality-control tool now includes an embedded board, with its own enclosure, and a touch-screen HMI with easy-to-use icons.

Melt-IQ This Md Plastics technology uses an industrial-grade sensor in the melt stream of the nozzle and the end cap, in front of the shut-off point in an injection molding machine, to gauge melt temperature.  From analyzing temperature changes, Melt-IQ can determine the optimum amount of work the machine puts out to produce good parts. Users can set up alarms to go off when the sensor detects fluctuations that would indicate the machine is no longer producing good parts. The plug-and-play technology is compatible with any IMM.

What’s new? Availability of the next generation of the technology. It now includes an embedded board, with its own enclosure, and a touch-screen HMI with easy-to-use icons.

Benefits Greater, faster processing power. The technology is an effective quality-control-management tool.
