iQ hold control Engel’s iQ family of products detects fluctuations in production conditions on injection molding machines (IMMs) and can automatically adjust parameters. Traditionally, determining the critical variable of holding pressure time during setup requires running multiple injection cycles, and the resulting parts must be analyzed for quality control. Engel’s iQ hold control analyzes mold breathing and plasticizing screw position to propose the optimum holding pressure time via the CC300 IMM control after just a few cycles.

What’s new? The iQ hold-control feature, which Engel planned to debut at K 2022.

Benefits Time and raw material savings. Engel’s iQ hold control optimizes holding pressure time in fewer injection cycles than traditional methods. In cases where iQ hold-control adjusts the holding pressure time lower than the initial settings, both cycle time and energy demand are reduced. The iQ hold-control feature allows less-experienced technicians to adjust process parameters for batch changes with the push of a button. For a limited time, Engel is offering trial versions of all of its iQ systems, including the new iQ hold control, to let customers test the potential quality and efficiency gains in their own operations.
