New Delta T process chillers have fully redundant design

Each system has two compressors, two evaporators, two condensers, two pumps and two controllers for protection against unexpected downtime.

Chillers Delta T Systems’ industrial process chillers provide process cooling for a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding and extrusion.

What’s new? Built-in redundancy. As an option, the company’s full line of air- and water-cooled chillers with cooling capacities from 1 to 15 tons is now available with two full chiller circuits in one cabinet. Each system has two compressors, two evaporators, two condensers, two pumps and two controllers. This fully redundant design provides backup for each component. The water-cooled chillers alternate between each of the two pumps every 100 hours. Both refrigeration circuits run constantly at 50 percent of the required cooling capacity, which is more energy efficient than alternating from one to the other. If one circuit goes down, the other runs at 100 percent. Redundant systems are especially suited for applications with variable heat loads or critical uptime requirements.

Benefits Protection against unexpected downtime. Built-in redundancy also means that the chiller can be serviced without stopping the system. The chillers cost less than purchasing and maintaining a separate, extra chiller.
