Blow molding machinery maker Nissei ASB Machine Co. Ltd., Tokyo, has entered a memorandum of understanding to form a partnership with injection molding machine (IMM) and extruder maker Shibaura Machine Co. Ltd., Tokyo, to work in emerging markets.

In a press release, Nissei said that it sees economic stagnation and increasing competition in emerging markets. Its initial plans are to combine Shibaura’s electromotive IMMs with Nissei’s local procurement and production capacity in India to manufacture and sell IMMs in India, leveraging each company’s differing customer sales routes.

The companies are still deciding the specific roles and functions each will perform, and plan to announce more details as they are finalized.
