REcreate Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s reverse engineering software offers a fast, intuitive set of tools to create 3D models in a production environment. It can handle 3D part information captured by a 3D scanner, or import mesh, solid, surface or point cloud data, which can be used for creating new product designs, repairs, or to make replacements for legacy parts. It can also be used to create CAD data for parts that have no CAD record, to ensure new components will fit existing products precisely, or to update design files to incorporate changes that occur during prototyping or design stages.

What’s new? REcreate 2022.0, which debuted at RAPID + TCT in September. This new version has a range of improvements, including updates to the user interface and macros that are more user-friendly. Imported point clouds are now displayed with shading, and a new command converts a mesh model into a randomized point cloud, removing the need to manually fix poor-quality mesh data.

Benefits Flexibility. REcreate can be used as a standalone CAD system, or as a complement to existing software. It works with a wide range of third-party systems and data, and can be used to create 2D drawings and manufacturable CAD models of parts from scratch. REcreate provides users with a single data source that can be shared between design, production and inspection teams.
