Its SmartDect system uses ultra-wideband technology and detectable tags to avoid collisions with humans and other vehicles.

AGVs and LGVs With headquarters in Viano, Italy, Elettric80 produces a range of product handling equipment, including automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and laser-guided vehicles (LGVs). Elettric80 has a branch in Illinois that handles sales and support in North America.

What’s new? The SmartDect system, which uses ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to prevent the company’s AGVs and LGVs from colliding with manually guided vehicles and workers. The collision-avoidance system uses antennas attached to each AGV or LGV, UWB-detectable tags worn by workers and tags attached to manually guided vehicles to detect their position, speed and direction of movement. If the potential for a collision is detected, the automated vehicle slows or stops, as needed. The wearable tag simultaneously notifies nearby workers with a flashing light, vibration or sound alert.

Benefits Enhanced worker safety in factory and warehouse settings.
