IML system Muller Technology’s in-mold labeling (IML) automation system for 5-gallon pails places a wraparound PP label into the injection mold, removes the pail after molding and moves it to a visual inspection station. The system fits any injection molding machine height and can easily be converted to work with two-cavity molds to accommodate the production of pails ranging from 1 to 5 gallons.

What’s new? The system and a key feature, digital label positioning, which is more precise than standard, manually adjusted label magazines. The IML system also can be quickly changed to accommodate different pail sizes and labels. Rotating dummy mandrels allow for label seams to be placed in different locations.

Benefits Reduced cost, improved productivity and enhanced product appearance. The unit is more efficient than standard pressure-sensitive and printed systems that require double handling of parts. Additionally, it is only 8 feet wide.
