Centralized blender doses up to 40 ingredients

Ampacet’s LIAD Smart BlendSave provides complete traceability of the mixing process, and reduces the complexity and cost of blending by eliminating the need for mezzanine structures and multiple vacuum receivers for each processing machine.

LIAD Smart BlendSave Ampacet’s centralized, automated blending system uses patented weighing and blending technology to manage resins and recipes for multiple processing machines. Designed for lights-out operations, it weighs ingredients individually and conveys them through dedicated lines to a mixer at each injection molding machine or extruder. The system can manage up to 40 ingredients. Its automated manifold, called OctoBatch, distributes the individual ingredients of each recipe to as many as 50 buffer hoppers, one for each processing machine. The Liad Smart BlendSave is modular, allowing additional units to be integrated to accommodate growth. It provides total traceability and verification of raw materials in each batch formulation and real-time data management of all resin ingredients through a centralized control and a facility’s existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

What’s new? Introduction to the North American market.

Benefits Accuracy, product quality and efficiency. Weighing each ingredient independently improves precision and eliminates the need for homogenizing multiple batches. The system also reduces the complexity and cost of blending by eliminating the need for mezzanine structures and multiple vacuum receivers for each processing machine. Automated operation eliminates the risk of material contamination during conveying, boosts uptime and reduces labor costs. Ampacet says that processors can see a return on their investment in one year.
