TCUs redesigned for improved pump efficiency

April 12, 2021
The components of Advantage Engineering's 5-horsepower (hp) and 7.5-hp pumps that come in contact with water now are made with stainless steel.

High-performance TCU Advantage Engineering’s Sentra line of water temperature control units employ an electric immersion heater and recirculate water to preheat molds to the desired operating temperature. Once the correct temperature is achieved, they can heat or cool the process by exchanging recirculated water with cooling water from an external source. They are available with 10-kilowatt (kW), 16-kW, 24-kW and 34-kW heaters, and customers can choose between the company’s Advantage VE, G or T microprocessor controls.

What’s new? Pump upgrades. This update to the Sentra Series features a redesign of the 5-horsepower (hp) and 7.5-hp pumps and introduces all-stainless construction of the parts that contact water.

Benefits Improved pump efficiency and longer life. The upgraded pumps can achieve higher flow rates — up to 100 gallons of water per minute — with the same horsepower as earlier models, and they meet U.S. Department of Energy standards. Stainless-steel construction eliminates rust concerns.
