The company's latest customized automated guided vehicle has a single conveyor deck and was designed for a customer that uses it to automatically transfer loads between production-floor conveyors.

CRE-650 Creform’s latest customized automated guided vehicle (AGV) is outfitted with a single conveyor and was designed for a customer that uses it to automatically transfer loads between production-floor conveyors. The single-direction unit follows a magnetic tape guide on the floor; radio-frequency identification tags are used to control its speed and to sense obstacles. Measuring 5.6 feet long by 3.2 feet wide by 5.8 feet tall, the AGV can travel up to 164 feet per minute. It has a heavy-duty fabricated steel base for strength and rigidity and integrated forklift tubes so it can be safely lifted for maintenance.

What’s new? The single conveyor deck; the AGV joins a previous Creform model with two conveyor decks. The conveyor’s transfer height is 1.7 feet and it has a 600-pound capacity. Optical communication devices coordinate the operation of the AGV’s conveyor and stationary conveyor units.

Benefits Safe, automated handling. The conveyor deck features photocells that verify that the load is secure during travel and stops the AGV if it detects a shift in the load. Other safety features include an audible warning device, flashing lights, e-stops and a laser scanner.
