Epson expands LS-B line of robots

Sept. 14, 2020
The LS3-B and LS20-B stake out positions as smallest and largest maximum payloads in the line.

LS-B Epson Robots has added to its LS-B line of SCARA robots, which are well-suited to pick-and-place, machine loading/unloading, mechanical assembly and palletizing tasks. They feature a low-profile cable duct, battery-free encoder and a built-in camera cable that makes it easy to add a vision system.

What’s new? Two models. The LS3-B has a maximum payload of 6.6 pounds and a reach of 15.7 inches, while the LS20-B has a maximum payload of 44 pounds and comes in versions with a maximum reach of 31.5 inches or 39.4 inches. Both robots are available in cleanroom versions.

Benefits More payload options. The LS3-B and the LS20-B join two existing LS-B robots — with maximum payloads of about 13 pounds and 22 pounds — making the line adaptable to a broader spectrum of tasks.
