Penn State Behrend receives Zeres IMM

July 14, 2020

Penn State Behrend has taken delivery of a new 101-ton Zhafir Zeres ZE 900/210 injection molding machine from Absolute Haitian. The new press is electric with integrated hydraulics for core pull, ejectors, carriage movement and optional valve gates. It will join the 11 injection molding machines already in use in the 10,000-square-foot lab that is part of the Erie, Pa., college’s Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center. The Zeres press, as well as MuCell microcellular foaming technology and iMFLUX software for low-constant-pressure injection molding, have been provided with consignment agreements. It will be in operation in time for fall classes.
