Solid-state contactors provide space savings
RGC Designed for use with many different kinds of machines, including extruders, dryers and injection presses, these solid-state contactors from Carlo Gavazzi are used to switch heating elements on and off. They can be installed by machinery OEMs, as well as by end users.
What’s new? A line of 17.8mm-wide RGC..32 devices, which are rated for a maximum of 37 amps AC at 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Pictured is the RGC1A60D32KGE.
Benefits Space savings. According to Carlo Gavazzi, the RGC..32 units have the highest amperage rating of any 17.8mm- or 22.5mm-wide solid-state switching devices on the market, making them a more compact choice than other similarly rated devices. Also, for applications that do not require devices with short-circuit current ratings of UL 508A, it can be used with B-curve miniature circuit breakers, which are less expensive than other, similar devices.
