Faro's Design ScanArm 2.5C portable scanning system can be used for reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and quality control.

Design ScanArm 2.5C Faro's portable scanning system can be used for reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and quality control. It is especially appropriate for those who need to develop or manufacture parts that include differing materials, coatings and surface finishes. The system also can be used to conduct wear-and-tear analysis on parts and tooling and to help create custom-fit replacements for critical repairs. Design ScanArm 2.5C consists of Faro's Prizm full-color laser line probe permanently attached to a seven-axis arm, with an eighth-axis rotary platform available as an option. It uses a green laser for high visual definition and can perform contact and non-contact measurement with precision of up to 75 microns. Hot-swappable batteries allow for hours of constant use without the need for an external power source.

What's new? Color scanning capability.

Benefits Precise, rapid 3-D scanning in full color that gives users better insight into part geometries, surfaces and differences between materials. The device is also lightweight and ergonomic.
