Equator 500 Renishaw Inc. has introduced this larger gauging system to complement its existing Equator 300 model. It can gauge size, position and geometry, and has been used to measure plastic parts in both the aerospace and automotive industries.

What's new? An increased measurement area. It offers higher scan speeds on suitable features, and can accurately gauge parts across a wider temperature range (41 degrees Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit). Its optional Equator Automatic Transfer System lets users load parts onto a fixture plate that slides them into and out of the measuring space to protect the gauge from accidental damage.

Benefits Rapid scans and a high level of repeatability. The system eliminates the need to stabilize parts to the temperature of the quality room prior to measuring. Using a master-measure comparative gauging process, the Equator can detect size or position differences of flexible plastic parts caused by how they are placed and remove any distortion from the final results.
