Systems automate measuring process

IM-7030 and IM-7030T Keyence's new non-contact measurement systems can automatically detect and measure pre-specified dimensions of objects such as plastic parts. They have an 8-inch-by-12-inch field of view. Equipped with sub-pixel processing, pattern recognition and automatic edge detection, the systems each have a high-precision camera, wide-field camera, light probe and adjustable lighting features. In addition, the IM-7030T, which is shown, has an automated drop indicator that allows users to obtain height measurements.

What's new? The systems, which Keyence released in March.

Benefits Accuracy, speed and ease of use. The systems' wide-field cameras are accurate to within 0.0002 inch, and their high-precision cameras are accurate to within 0.000008 inch. The systems, which can check 99 dimensions in 3 seconds, require no special training to use and can automatically produce reports and measurements.
