LP20EH3 This 20-ton micro-injection horizontal press from Sodick, Schaum-burg, Ill., can produce 42,000 pounds of injection pressure and reach an injection speed of about 51 inches per second. It is equipped with Sodick's patented, two-stage, V-Line plunger technology, which separates the screw, which prepares the material, from the plunger side, where dosing occurs. Distributed through Plustech, a company set up in part by Sodick, it is capable of 15.3 G-forces of acceleration.

What's new? The press, which was exhibited at NPE. Benefits High-performance. Designed to handle production of advanced sensors and electronics, the machine can perform tight-tolerance and micro-precision applications of thin-walled parts. During NPE, it produced liquid-crystal polymer devices weighing less than 0.02 ounces.
