BB Engineering debuts 360mm extruder

The single-screw extruder for PET feeds a Brückner line to produce high-performance film.

Extruders BB Engineering offers single-screw extruders for a variety of materials, including PP, PET, PE, polyamide (PA) and recyclates. They offer high melt quality, optimized polymer homogenization, low thermal and mechanical stress, precise temperature and process control and short residence time. Available screw diameters start at 30mm, with throughputs ranging up to over 13,000 pounds per hour. Available L/D ratios range from 24 to 33.

What’s new? BB Engineering’s first 360mm PET single-screw extruder, announced in February. Two were commissioned at a customer’s site in China, where they melt PET and feed the homogeneous melt into a Brückner flat film line, as part of a process to create high-performance PET film designed for optical applications.

Benefits Energy efficiency, flexibility and more options, now with BB Engineering’s biggest screw-diameter extruder. According to the company, the new extruder produces optimal melt quality and will enjoy a long service life, with minimal maintenance needs.
