The mechanism makes it faster and easier to change and maintain crossheads.
March 13, 2026

Cam-Lock This mechanism for Guill crossheads significantly reduces the disassembly and re-assembly time of extrusion tooling; improves maintenance operations; and protects vital internal components.

What’s new? An expanded portfolio of Cam-Locks, originally designed for Guill’s Bullet crossheads. Cam-Locks are now included as a standard or optional component on the company’s extrusion tools.

Benefits Ease of use. By taking advantage of the expanded availability of Cam-Locks, users can eliminate the need for fastening hardware and reduce the need for time to maintain their crossheads. The Cam-Locks allow quick, accurate and easy assembly and disassembly of the crosshead and eliminate the socket head caps screws, while preventing the possibility of damage in a changeover. By removing and replacing internal components, a different profile or material can be extruded in minutes rather than hours.
