IOA automatically adjusts pipe head centering

The Battenfeld-Cincinnati technology optimizes the end product, saving time and material compared to manual adjustment of the pipe gap.

Intelligent Operating Adjustment (IOA) This electromechanical Battenfeld-Cincinnati technology, which uses radar waves to measure pipe wall thicknesses, tilts the nozzle area of the pipe tool slightly to achieve optimum centering of pipe heads, to provide automatic adjustments for the production of dimensionally accurate pipes. It can be retrofitted to existing helix pipe tools and is appropriate for conventional lines, as well as lines that require fast adjustments to dimensions.

What’s new? The IOA, which Battenfeld-Cincinnati debuted at the K show.

Benefits Easier and more accurate adjustment of pipe heads, leading to the optimization of the end product, and savings of time and material. Usually, machine operators have to manually adjust screws on the pipe gap, with their effectiveness depending on their experience and skill. With the IOA, machine operators can now do this at the touch of a button.
