Coil strapping system Conair’s new system puts roll-fed PP or PET straps on finished coils of small-diameter, extruded tubing made by the company’s ATC series coiler. The system consists of a steel stand that holds two rolls of strapping and an automatic strapping head unit mounted on a steel base that attaches directly to the base of the tube coiler. The strapping head unit has a strap guide roller, an alignment arm and a cutter/welder device that affixes the strap, cuts it and ultrasonically welds it onto the coil. The controller integrates directly into the coiler’s controller via a secure Ethernet connection. The system, which is FDA-compliant for use with medical tubing, can apply one, two or four straps to coils up to 24 inches in diameter.
What’s new? The strapping system, which is available on new ATC coilers, or as a retrofit on existing units.
Benefits Coils that are easier to grasp, handle and move. The system is designed to prevent damage to the tubing. Additionally, if the system runs out of strapping, the ATC coiler’s automatic accumulator ensures that tubing production continues while new strapping rolls are loaded.
