Pearl upgrades blown film bubble cage with new control functions

April 12, 2021
With digital positioning feedback (DPF) functionality, the control system keeps a continuous digital record of the position of the cage arms and the film’s frost line so that the recipe can be stored for future reference.

Bubble cage and bubble guides Pearl Technologies’ bubble cage and guides regulate the diameter of blown film bubbles.

What’s new? A control with digital positioning feedback (DPF) functionality. With DPF, the control system keeps a continuous digital record of the position of the cage arms and the film’s frost line so that the recipe can be stored for future reference. The touchscreen control can be integrated with the company’s other DPF-actuated devices, such as collapsing frames and gusset-board actuators. This allows all the components to move in unison to the correct position during extrusion line changeovers. The control system is more sophisticated than typical bubble cages that are limit-switch operated.

Benefits Blemish-free web handling and ease of operation. With the push of a button, operators can achieve repeatable quality from one production shift to the next. Recipe storage means there is no need to reset machine coordinates once they have been determined.
