Leistritz adds features to control system

The Siemens PLC/HMI control hardware and code can help users tailor extruder operations to their needs.

Twin-screw extruders Leistritz’s twin-screw extruders are modular and flexible, with models appropriate for continuous processing and a wide variety of applications, including masterbatch production, compounding, direct extrusion, and laboratory and pharmaceutical extrusion. For plastics processing, the company offers extruders capable of very high specific torque, up to 1.3 pound force- inch, and outer-diameter-to-inner-diameter ratios of 1.66-to-1.  

What’s new? Updates to the Siemens PLC/HMI control hardware and code, available on all Leistritz extruders. At NPE, the company will show off some of the latest features on a ZSE-18 twin-screw extruder, designed for hourly throughputs ranging from about 1.1 pound to over 22 pounds.
