US Extruders receives research grant
US Extruders has been awarded $43,655 from the Rhode Island Commerce Corp. to research a method to reliably turn end-of-life fishing nets into plastic pellets. This will include conducting tests to deliver data on the amount and percentage of material recycled, viscosity measurements and the quality of the recycled product.
At the end of the process, US Extruders will market the pellets to manufacturing partners.
US Extruders, Westerly, R.I., manufactures custom single-screw extruders, extrusion systems and screws. Based in Providence, the Rhode Island Commerce Corp., works with public, private and nonprofit partners to promote economic development in the state.
