PET sheet line In response to growing demand, this extrusion line from SML produces PET sheet in a thickness range of up to 2mm. The PET market in food packaging is growing as the market demands more raw materials that can be recycled. Thick sheets, which are characterized by transparency and stiffness, can be used in manufacturing large clear cups and trays for take-out food packaging
What's new? The recently introduced extrusion line, which features two extruders so that it can produce three-layer structures.
Benefits Flexibility. SML has produced other PET extruders, but this line is unique because it can run thick PET, as well as foamed sheet, using a carbon dioxide gas injection system. A slanted, upstack roll stack mounted on the line is designed for thick PET sheet production requirements. The paired extruders can produce three-layer PET sheet in an A-B-A structure, such as two layers of non-foamed PET sheet sandwiched around a foamed PET layer. The extrusion line can manufacture a variety of products, including rigid PET, PP or PS sheet, with or without foamed centers.
