MAS Maschinen und Anglagenbau Schulz GmbH, Pucking, Austria, has launched the third generation of its conical, co-rotating twin-screw extruders.

Extruders MAS Maschinen und Anglagenbau Schulz GmbH, Pucking, Austria, has launched the third generation of its conical, co-rotating twin-screw extruders. The extruders, with a new optimized machine design, are available in six sizes, with hourly outputs ranging from about 22 pounds to more than 4,400 pounds. In the U.S., eFactor3 represents MAS.

What's new? Upgrades that debuted at the K show. They include the addition of a safety clutch between the drive motor and gearbox, and a redesign of the barrel.

Benefits Increased user-friendliness. The new extruders have a segmented barrel design, so users have the freedom to apply special wear protection to certain sections or swap out individual barrel sections, instead of having to replace the entire cylinder. Overall, MAS says the series efficiently produces a homogenous melt, even when dealing with large volumes.
