High-Speed Light Gauge Foil & Film Unwinder Davis-Standard's new two-position, phantom-axis turret unwinder was especially designed for extrusion coating applications involving aluminum foil and PE films. The machine, which is ideal for aluminum foil webs ranging from 6 microns to 20 microns and PE films ranging from 30 microns to 100 microns, can handle rolls measuring 11 inches to 40 inches wide. It is usually used as an auxiliary unwinder in aseptic packaging applications but can also be used as the main unwinder in flexible packaging applications involving a wide range of substrates, including paper.

What's new? Pneumatic splice-unit controls with a safety PLC and updated safety standards.

Benefits High-speed splicing, even when working with sensitive films. The machine can unwind films with thicknesses as thin as 6 microns at speeds of about 2,600 feet a minute. The new controls provide safer and easier operation.
