Menges progresses with plant, equipment upgrades

Oct. 10, 2017

Menges Roller Inc., Wauconda, Ill., is making progress on its multimillion-dollar project to upgrade and expand its plant and equipment. When completed, the company will have doubled the manufacturing space dedicated to its two core business lines — core/heat transfer rollers and rubber roller coverings.

"Our plant is now full CNC on the core manufacturing side, which enables us to manufacture in the most efficient means possible," President Matt Menges said. "Our new lathe has capacity to 72-inch diameter and 275 inches in length, with live tooling and three-axis machining capability."

Four 10-ton overhead cranes will be installed to handle the increasingly large and heavy roll sizes the company produces, providing 40,000 pounds of lifting capacity per bay.
