Plasmtreat and Kuka team up on technologies

Plasmatreat USA Inc. engineers plasma systems; Kuka Robotics Corp. specializes in robots and automation. Now, the two are bringing their technologies together to offer an automated, modular platform for plasma surface treatment.

As part of the system integration, KR Agilus robots from Kuka, Shelby Township, Mich., can be used with all standardized pretreatment processes based on the Openair plasma jet technology from Plasmatreat, Elgin, Ill. The robots can ensure that there is uniform cleaning, activation or nanocoating of the material surface for the working range of the plasma cell.
